About

Center Stage Music Studios offers vocal, acting, instrument, and audition coaching. We believe each student is unique, which is why we customize our lessons for each student and collaborate with them rather than dictate to them.

WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT

Learning

We have a team of highly skilled instructors that teach performers the correct vocal, acting, and instrumental techniques while using the genre of music the performer feels best defines them as an artist. Instructors also advise students on how to build their resumes and prepare for auditions.

Uniqueness

We believe differences make for an interesting performer which is why our instructors collaborate with their students to pick music/monologue instead of dictating it. By utilizing what sets the individual apart from others, we help give them the self confidence they need to shine to their highest potential on and off the stage.

Performance

At Center Stage, we focus on being fabulous and engaging performers. This is why we give students several opportunities to perform at prestigious venues (such us World Cafe Live in Philadelphia) throughout the year. This allows students to showcase the skills they learned from their instructors in a professional environment.

What people are saying about Center Stage

Lori is an amazing singing teacher. She has the ability to motivate and push her students to reach their potential, she takes so much pride in seeing her students become successful and learn new skills. She does this while making learning fun. My daughter has learned so much from her and looks forward to her lessons each week.
— Jodi Abraham
In addition to helping jump start a young girl’s singing career, Lori helped our formerly shy daughter find the strength to be confident on stage and off. It’s always a pleasure to see how all of her students have grown with each performance. We really enjoy seeing the students perform together live as a band - rather than singing along to a recorded track. Lori knows how to put on a show that highlights her students strengths and entertains us. Finding Lori helped bring our daughter’s dreams to life.
— Charlie Bowden
My daughter Emily has been trained by Lori Olock for about 2 1/2 years now. Her experience and expertise with her vocal craft is phenomenal. She’s been instrumental in helping Emily reach her fullest potential vocally. The recitals are super fun. It’s wonderful seeing the kids perform on stage with a band in front of a large audience. Lori has been very professional and easy to work with. She’s a cool chick!

Michael Cain

Michael Cain

Michael Cain is a Minnesota boy with a love of music from Donizetti to Van Halen. He got his start in music as the little cousin of Irish musician Tom Dahill, sitting in on Irish jigs and reels on the bodhran and found himself playing the snare drum in the Brian Boru Irish Pipe band shortly after. Along with his strong Irish roots, Michael had a love of rock and roll instilled in him by his flower-child mother, who bought him his first electric guitar on the condition that he learned “Layla”. It was an easy leap from Cream and Eric Clapton to Van Halen, one of his favorite bands and musical inspirations. Cain has been tapping frets ever since.

Michael studied classical percussion and vocal performance at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls and played in every ensemble he could, and in his later years a student was writing and arranging for them. College was the first exposure he had to regular lessons, as well as classical and jazz music. It was a very formative period in his musical development where he delved in to the theory and history of how the music he loved came to be. Michael then went on to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA to receive his Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts, where he studied jazz vibraphone and composition and matured into a professional jazz musician. He has led several jazz and contemporary ensembles of original compositions and arrangements.

Today, Michael is working as a freelance musician (voice, guitar and percussion) and teaches at Camden County Community College in Camden, NJ. He is active as a songwriter and composer in the Philadelphia area and is recording the debut record for Chris Cain and the Blue Collar Band this fall.
